Preschool Education
The early years of school are key to children’s academic, emotional, and social development. At SEK International School Guatemala, located in a privileged natural setting, we understand Early Childhood Education as a fundamental stage for the holistic development of each student.
Our PYP (International Baccalaureate® Primary Years Programme) educational project is based on an active, playful, and imaginative methodology. As the first school in Guatemala authorized for this program, we encourage children to develop their curiosity, creativity, observation skills, and social and emotional abilities from their earliest school years.
We have a personalized support system that allows for continuous monitoring of each student’s development, as well as constant communication with families, ensuring that each stage of learning is experienced with closeness, trust, and support.
Bilingual Program from the Early Years
In the early years, we prioritize strengthening the mother tongue as a fundamental basis for the development of thought and communication. Starting in Pre-Kindergarten, our students begin the pre-literacy process, consolidating key skills for their academic learning.
From this stage, their progressive immersion in the English language also begins, allowing them to become naturally familiar with the language through dynamic and meaningful experiences.
This approach ensures a solid and balanced linguistic development, preparing our students to move forward confidently in a bilingual environment.
PYP Curriculum
As an International Baccalaureate® authorized school, at SEK International School Guatemala we implement the principles of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), developing internationally minded students capable of cultivating skills such as inquiry, critical thinking, communication, integrity, empathy, and reflection.
